"TWAS THE FORTNIGHT BEFORE..."
with Stephen
Stubbs, lute and guest director; Maxine
Eilander, baroque harp; and Carrie
Krause, violin.
“Stubbs offers us handsome, superbly-crafted pictures, hung
in a small boutique museum.”—Robert Levine
It’s
two weeks before Christmas and even the mouse will be stirring,
and probably humming along, during this concert. The program includes
a concerto for harp (with 2 recorders) by Handel. Maxine will be
playing a triple gut string baroque harp (made by Claus Huttel in
Germany). Stephen will play a concerto for lute by Vivaldi, and
lead the orchestra in other music tuned right into the season.
Music to warm the hearth and the heart.
